Sent on the Lucia evening, a video broadcast spread where the Gävle Goat seemed to be burning once again. But it turned out to be a hoax, reports Gefle Dagblad.
The rescue service tells the newspaper that someone managed to create a fake video broadcast where it looks like the goat is burning. The real Gävle Goat stands safely in its place, shows a live broadcast on Gävle municipality's website.
The ill-fated Gävle Goat was erected for the first time in 1966, but has burned down more times than it has remained undamaged over the years. At least seven times, it has also been subjected to other attacks, including being run over by a hot rod.
Last year, the goat was left alone by people, but was instead devoured by hungry crows.
