The 15-year-old girl who was sentenced to closed youth care for murder has already previously announced through her lawyer that the verdict will not be appealed. Now, the 13-year-old girl who was also declared guilty of murder by the Lund District Court has come to the same conclusion.
Her legal representative Maria Grosskopf emphasizes that the girl believes she was wrongly declared guilty of murder.
But she feels that it's so tough to go through another process that she feels she wants to put it behind her as much as possible and move on, says the lawyer to TT.
Because she had not turned 15, she was not sentenced to any punishment.
Both girls have admitted to planning and carrying out the assault on the 14-year-old together, but they have denied murder, citing that they did not intend to kill.
The deadline for appealing the verdict expires on Friday. The prosecutor and the murdered girl's mother also have the opportunity to appeal the verdict.
Corrected: In an earlier version, it was incorrectly stated that it was clear that there would be no trial in the Court of Appeal.
