The speech will be another part of the public mourning after the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska.
The speech will be broadcast on SVT1 and on SVT Play. SVT's political commentator Mats Knutson will participate in the broadcast, according to SVT.
Sitting prime ministers have made televised speeches to the nation in connection with important events over the years. Ulf Kristersson used the format to talk about the wave of violence in Sweden in September 2023.
Additionally, Kristersson spoke to the nation from Washington in March 2024 when Sweden formally became a member of NATO.
To honor the victims after the school shooting in Örebro, a national minute of silence will also be held on Tuesday at 12 o'clock.
"What should not have happened has happened, and the whole country is mourning with the affected. February 4, 2025, will forever mark a dark day in Swedish history. To honor the victims who never came home to their loved ones, I invite everyone across our country to gather in a minute of silence", says the Prime Minister in a press release.
On Tuesday, the flags will be flown at half-mast from 9 am until the minute of silence has ended.
