The man is suspected of a murder in Länsmansgården in Gothenburg last year. But in December, he was released by mistake on parole for almost a day, reports SVT News West.
Neither the prosecutor nor the Gothenburg District Court noticed that the man's detention period had expired. Therefore, he was released on parole before being re-arrested the day after.
A mistake has been made. It's an investigation that's ongoing, so I don't want to interfere with it, says prosecutor Carl-Henrik Andersson to SVT.
The District Court has reported the incident to the State's Accountability Committee, which in turn has reported the responsible councilor for suspected official misconduct.
