In the Stockholm area, extensive traffic jams have formed and several accidents have occurred, including one on E18 where a person was taken to hospital in the evening after a car crashed into the central railing near Kungsängen north of the capital, reports Expressen.
Several vehicles were involved in an accident on E4 near the Hallunda traffic junction south of Stockholm early in the afternoon.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up but was not considered seriously injured. The accident occurred in the northbound direction and initially caused significant traffic disruption, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
Further south on E4, several incidents and accidents have been reported on Sunday. Two accidents outside Linköping caused traffic to come to a standstill, resulting in long queues, writes Corren. No serious personal injuries have been reported in connection with the accidents.
Jönköping has also been affected by accidents, resulting in longer queues.
