A 31-year-old man is sentenced to ten years' imprisonment by Sundsvall District Court for, among other things, preparation for murder.
He is one of eleven people sentenced in a comprehensive gang trial where the charges have included, among other things, serious drug offences, serious weapons offences, and money laundering.
This is the third gang trial of its kind in Sundsvall since the beginning of last year.
According to information provided to local media, the 31-year-old is identified as the new leader of the Dalen network's Sundsvall group. He receives the longest sentence of all and is also convicted of doping offences, drug offences, money laundering, and serious drug and weapons offences.
The planned murder is believed to have been intended to take place at the beginning of December last year but was thwarted by a police intervention. In addition to the 31-year-old, a 22-year-old man is sentenced for preparation for murder, while two people are acquitted of accessory to fact.
In total, nine of those sentenced receive prison sentences, with the shortest sentence being ten months. A 16-year-old boy is also sentenced for serious drug offences and receives ten months' youth supervision.
A 20-year-old woman is acquitted of drug offences and serious drug offences.
