This year's inducted artists are presented at a press conference in Norrköping – where the members of Eldkvarn started playing together over 50 years ago.
It's well-deserved for long and faithful service. But then there's a hell of a lot of great songs and great music too. It feels fantastic. I don't know who else is included, but I think I know most of them, says Eldkvarn's frontman Per "Plura" Jonsson.
For Jenny Berggren in Ace of Base, the induction feels important.
Music is, after all, my livelihood. I don't need any awards to get up in the morning and sing like a little nightingale. But when you've crawled over 50, it's fun to get this, like a little golden clock to hang on your achievement. You've passed a milestone somehow, she says.
"No, a good answer"
Berggren is still touring around the world with Ace of Base's music. But the group no longer plays together and has no plans to do so either.
No, that's a good short answer, she says.
I usually say that when all three, Jonas, Malin, and Ulf, stand and knock on my door, I'll open it. But I don't really think it will happen.
Last summer, Eldkvarn said goodbye to the audience with a final tour, which was their second farewell in as many years. Whether it's really over now is a matter of divided opinions.
My brother is visiting now, and I'm trying to talk to him about the future. But he's not so keen on the future. There are, however, others in the band who are. Personally, I'm sort of in between. But this is, after all, the only thing you've done your whole life. Should you just quit now? says Plura.
Large gang
In the Hall of Fame, all band members are inducted, both current and former. In Eldkvarn's case, it will be a large gang – with musicians like Curt-Åke Stefan, Liten Falkenholm, and Peter Smoliansky who played in the band during earlier years.
They've stopped for various reasons, and it's us in the band now who've carried the ship forward. I don't know what I think about this really, but it's nice that everyone gets to be included, says Plura.

The idea behind the Swedish Music Hall of Fame is to "honor the richness of the Swedish music treasure". The inductees must have made their record debut at least 20 years ago.
