The Moderate Party's women's association wants women to have the right to cesarean sections, even if there is no medical reason for it. It must be up to the woman to decide how she wants to give birth, says the association's chairperson Josefin Malmqvist to Ekot :
Today, as a woman in Sweden, you cannot decide for yourself how you want to give birth, and we know that it creates great anxiety for many.
Ekot has sought out Health Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson (KD) who has declined to comment on the proposal.
