The ambition to start up a Nordic AI center was presented last autumn. Sweden officially handed over the chairmanship of the Nordic Council of Ministers to Finland and Åland at the turn of the year, but beforehand, they agreed on the financing.
The formal decision will be made after AI Sweden has submitted its final report at the end of February, but I and my Nordic ministerial colleagues have already expressed our support for establishing a Nordic AI center, says Jessica Rosencrantz.
AI Sweden is Sweden's national AI center, which is working together with Nordic counterparts to start up the Nordic AI center. Last autumn, there was an ambition to have everything in place "at the beginning of next year".
In February, we will get a clearer picture of it. But it's clear I hope this can be in place as soon as possible. Because things are moving very fast in the AI field.
Exactly how the future center will work and with what focus will also be revealed in the future:
AI will be relevant for almost everyone. Companies and organizations, but also municipalities and authorities, says Jessica Rosencrantz.
It will be about creating greater opportunities for those in our region, but also attracting new companies within new sectors.
