There is broad support among Swedes to completely ban sales via telephone. This is shown by an opinion survey conducted by Indikator opinion on behalf of SR Ekot.

74 percent of those who participated in the survey think it is a very good or fairly good proposal to ban all forms of telephone sales. Only 9 percent believe it is a bad proposal.

The support is greatest among the elderly and somewhat lower among the young. However, the difference between party affiliations is small.

The survey was conducted after Dagens Nyheter revealed that the Social Democratic Party's lottery operations had used telephone sales targeting the elderly and confused.
