Man shot in Jordbro – young man detained

A man in his 30s is seriously injured after being shot in an apartment in Jordbro, south of Stockholm. A young man was arrested in connection with the shooting and was detained overnight into Wednesday suspected of attempted murder.

The police received several emergency calls at 17.53 about an ongoing shooting in Jordbro in Haninge municipality. According to the calls, several shots were heard. Once on the scene, the police were able to get a good location and a man was found shot inside an apartment.

Initially, the man was cared for by ambulance personnel and police in the apartment before being transported by ambulance helicopter to the hospital.

An area was cordoned off, and later on Tuesday evening, the police announced that the shooting had taken place outside the apartment where the man was found.

The police spokesperson, Ola Österling, tells TT that a young man was arrested during the evening.

He was arrested in Haninge municipality in connection with the operation.

Ola Österling says it is still too early to say whether the shot man is known to the police from before.
