A large-scale search operation is underway on Thursday in a woodland area in Hässelby, west Stockholm, involving the police and the Defence Forces, according to Expressen.
The search operation is being carried out as part of the investigation into the murder of two 14-year-old boys last summer. The boys were found murdered in Nynäshamn and Upplands-Bro, respectively, with a few weeks' interval between the incidents.
An operation is being conducted in collaboration with the Defence Forces, which we have sought assistance from, says prosecutor Hanna Cardell, who is leading the investigation, to TT.
The operation began, according to Expressen, in the morning and has been ongoing for several hours. Police officers and around a dozen soldiers are searching the woodland area with metal detectors.
We are not looking for anything dangerous, so the public does not need to be concerned, says police operation chief Jonas Forslund about the search operation to the newspaper.
Several individuals are being held in custody in connection with the investigation into the murder of the boys, who knew each other.
Charges will be brought later in the autumn, says Hanna Cardell.
