I think SKMA is incredibly important and has made a significant contribution over a long period of time, says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

In these times we are now experiencing with a lot of anti-Semitism flourishing, not least in the wake of conflicts in the Middle East, it is an incredibly important task.

Funding to the organization will not be affected, says Kristersson, who believes that the committee also makes an important contribution regarding memorial trips.

The Sweden Democrats' party leader Jimmie Åkesson has, along with several other top party officials, accused SKMA of opinion-building against the Cooperation Party and the Sweden Democrats in particular. This is after SKMA criticized the Sweden Democrats for not addressing anti-Semitism within the party.

The party leaders question in a debate article in Aftonbladet whether SKMA is politically and religiously unbound and write that the party will now treat SKMA as any political opponent.

Is the Sweden Democrats' criticism of SKMA reasonable?

I have not taken part in the exact. I have seen that they had an exchange of views, says the Prime Minister.

It is a politically unbound organization that makes important contributions to counter anti-Semitism. That is what I focus on.

The Sweden Democrats' press department writes in an email to TT that Ulf Kristersson's opinion about SKMA "can stand for him".

"Our stance on SKMA is now crystal clear, given the exchange of views that has taken place on Aftonbladet.se", they write further.
