The Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) emphasizes, however, that it is important not to draw any hasty conclusions.

We note that there are cable breaks, in the sense of damage. We note that there is now an investigation and that the Defence Forces, the Coast Guard, and the Police are working very well together, he says at a press conference.

We are in close contact with many other countries, including Finland and Denmark. I do not intend to go into details about the conversations being held, but we take all events that are currently happening in our surroundings very seriously.

The Police have previously confirmed that they are interested in the Chinese vessel that passed near the cables.

The Police Authority is responsible for any designations of specific objects or vessels. It is not something I can anticipate, says Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister for Civil Defence.

He emphasizes, however, that the Defence Forces and the Coast Guard have been quick in their work together with the Police.

I believe that we have good conditions to bring greater clarity to this situation.
