Since the announcement came on Friday that the band Kent is reuniting for three concerts next year, the band's music has received a significant boost on streaming services.
According to figures from Spotify, the number of streams of the band's song catalog increased by 280 percent on Friday and Saturday compared to the same period the previous week. The number of added Kent songs on playlists increased by 400 percent.
The band has stated that one of the reasons for the reunion is the new, younger fans who never had the opportunity to see the band when it was active and who have more recently discovered their music through Tiktok.
The fact that it is Generation Z driving up the listening figures is confirmed by demographic data from Spotify, which shows that nearly every fourth person, 24 percent, who listens to Kent via the music service is between 18 and 27 years old.
