"Despite earlier uncertainty, the recovery in housing construction seems to be rolling on, but it is naturally still a long way to previous levels", writes analysis manager Tor Borg at Citymark Analysis and Byggfakta in a comment.
Construction outside the residential sector fell 1.5 percent compared to November, resulting in a decline of 8.4 percent compared to December a year earlier.
"Now the effects of industrial investments are subsiding somewhat, while commercial local construction is decreasing", writes Borg.
Overall, the development resulted in an increase for the Construction Start Indicator for December by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month and by 3.9 percent compared to a year earlier.
