Two high-ranking officials have been temporarily removed from duty at the Rescue Service Storgöteborg.

According to the Rescue Service, the officials are being investigated in connection with a whistleblower alert. The two have been removed from duty to "ensure a fair and objective process", it says in a press release.

The investigation will be led by an external party. What the whistleblower alert concerns is, however, unknown.

"We are aware that this situation raises questions, and we are working to handle this matter with the greatest possible care and speed, but right now we have no more information to provide", says Ingrid Andreae, chairman of the Rescue Service Storgöteborg's board of directors.
