The Gothia Cup's website crashed on Wednesday when registration for next year's football tournament opened, reports Göteborgs-Posten and P4 Göteborg.
It was higher pressure than we've ever experienced before, says tournament manager Niclas Freiholtz to GP.
About 1,200 teams had registered in around half an hour, according to P4 Göteborg.
The Gothia Cup, played in and around Gothenburg, is the world's largest football cup for children and youth. Next year, the tournament will take place between July 13 and 19.
The tournament estimates that nearly 2,000 teams from around 80 countries participate every year.
