Claes Nordmark (S) was sentenced last week to a conditional sentence and community service for sexual assault against a woman. He must also pay damages of 64,701 kronor to the woman.

Nordmark, who resigned from all political assignments when he was prosecuted, can receive up to 1.3 million kronor in transition support from Boden municipality.

The damages to the victim are one twentieth of what Claes Nordmark now receives. The citizens of Boden municipality must also pay for this, says Tobias Sundberg (The Moderate Party), group leader in Boden, to DN.

Sundberg also says that he will appeal the issue of support to the administrative court.

Béatrice Öman (S), second vice chairman of the municipal board, welcomes a review in the administrative court. She believes, however, that Boden municipality's lawyers have handled the matter based on the municipality's rules for transition support, writes DN.

Claes Nordmark was sentenced despite his denial.
