The petrol price is rising in conjunction with the crude oil price moving in the same direction lately. 95-octane and 98-octane petrol are increasing by 10 öre to 17.19 and 18.14 kronor per liter, respectively. As for diesel, the increase is twice as large, and one liter now costs 17.44 kronor, while those who fill up with ethanol will have to pay 13.54 kronor per liter, an increase of 30 öre.
The unrest in the Middle East has caused the oil price to surge, for example, the price of a barrel of Brent oil has risen nearly 20 percent since the year's lowest level at the beginning of September.
