"The District Court has come to the conclusion that convincing evidence has been presented that the defendant has committed the acts," the court writes in a press release.

Whether intent or negligence has existed, the court has not taken a stance on. Nor how the acts should be classified.

The 18-year-old is, in addition to murder, also suspected of aggravated rape and aggravated weapons offense.

The girl disappeared in Mark Municipality in March. She was found dead four days later near her school. The suspected man – who was 17 years old at the time of the alleged crime – was arrested the same day.

The main proceedings will continue in October after the forensic psychiatric report has been submitted to the court. The 18-year-old will remain in custody during this time.
