Several stores are recalling eggs since the producer of the eggs has discovered salmonella in the farm environment.
Over 36,000 hens will now be put down.
"The recalled products have been sold by most of Axfood's retail chains and are now stopped for sale. The products may pose a health risk, but when heated to 70 degrees, the salmonella bacteria die. No cases of illness have been reported so far," writes Axfood in a press release.
Ica and Lidl are also recalling eggs.
"We take this incident seriously and are now investigating together with the supplier how this could have happened and how we can ensure it does not happen again," says Niklas Warén, Quality Manager at Ica Sweden in a press release.
All poultry on the farm in question will be put down, and according to the County Administrative Board, there were over 36,000 hens on the farm in April, reports SVT News.
