The drug deals took place, among other things, via encrypted chats. But through various efforts, the police managed to make contact and identify several of those involved.
This led to drug seizures with a total street value of several million kronor.
Now, five people are being prosecuted at Södertörn's district court, suspected of being involved in a large-scale drug operation in Stockholm, the Gothenburg area, Katrineholm, and Gävle, according to the Prosecution Authority.
They are being prosecuted for several cases of aggravated drug offenses and gross drug smuggling.
"This is a comprehensive investigation, and during the investigation, we have been able to map out how the drugs are distributed by the network and how the drugs' path into Sweden has looked", says prosecutor Daniel Jonsson in a press release.
