The property has seven apartments and there is still no information about what may have caused the fire. Residents have been evacuated to a school that serves as a gathering point.
All residents in the row house have been evacuated, and no one is reported injured, says police spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson.
The fire started in one of the apartments and has spread to the roof of the building.
It's a comprehensive roof fire across the entire row. We fear that it may spread down into the apartments below the roof, says Pontus Olsson, press officer at the rescue service.
The extinguishing work is still ongoing at 9 am. The rescue service will remain on site throughout the day.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into gross negligence. They will assist the rescue service with cordoning off the area and interviewing witnesses.
The Botkyrka municipality is also providing assistance at the site.
We opened a gathering point at a nearby school, where people can gather and share their concerns. Although no one is injured, a lot of valuable property has gone up in smoke, says press chief Lennart Agén.
Right now, we're supporting and informing residents and neighbors.
