The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into aggravated arson after a fire in a multi-family house in Avesta. A woman has been arrested.
I have no further details about why, but since it's a multi-family house, there is naturally a risk that many people would be affected by a fire, which is why it is considered aggravated, says Anders Dahlman at the Bergslagen police region.
According to Avesta Tidning, one person was taken to hospital by ambulance after the fire.
The police will conduct technical investigations to clarify why the fire started.
The alarm to the police came at around 19:30 on Monday.
