Nedre Dalälven Interest Association receives approximately 875,000 kronor for mosquito control, following a decision by the regional council in Region Gävleborg.

Large mosquito invasions are a significant problem for residents, visitors, and those active in the area around the Nedre Dalälvs region. However, with annual mosquito control, it is possible to reside in the area, which spans seven municipalities in Dalarna, Gävleborg, Uppsala, and Västmanland counties.

"We see that the floodwater mosquito is a serious problem that affects the health and quality of life for residents in particular in lower Dalälven. In order to alleviate their situation, we therefore allocate resources to the control work," says Anna Sundberg, (SD) vice chairman of the regional council, in a press release.
