Something has exploded in a car in Stenby in Eskilstuna. But what lies behind the whole thing is not yet known, according to the police.
The cause is unclear, says Dick Steisjö, duty officer at the police in Region East.
It seems to have been a powerful bang that was heard over a large area, judging by the calls that came in when it happened half an hour after midnight, on Friday morning.
The incident is initially being investigated as suspected general endangerment, in order to have access to certain investigative tools. During the bang, smoke spread from the car, but it did not catch fire.
No one has been injured, and, as far as is currently known, neither have any nearby houses.
