We received the alarm at 01.43 that a person had smashed a window to the restaurant and then used a flammable liquid, and when he lit it on fire, it became an explosive fire. He then left the scene running, says Thomas Paulsson, officer in charge in police region South.
The rescue service and police were quickly on the scene and managed to limit the fire to the restaurant section, so that it did not spread to the apartments above.
We have arrested three young men in their late teens and they are now suspected of aggravated arson, says Thomas Paulsson.
No personal injuries have been reported and by 02.30 the fire was largely extinguished. A technical investigation will be conducted on the scene.
The same restaurant has previously been subjected to several attacks. On August 30, a hand grenade was thrown at the premises and on October 14, a fire was started.
