An explosion has occurred at a residential building in Västra Frölunda in Gothenburg. There are no major material damages, says Göran Carlbom, duty officer at the police.

Alarm about loud explosions came in at half past eleven on Monday evening.

It took a while before we could locate that it had exploded at an address in a villa area, says Carlbom.

No one was injured in the explosion. The National Bomb Squad has worked on the site and assessed that it is safe for the public.

No one has been arrested.

We have a few leads to work with, but so far nothing hot. We still have a resource on site with door-to-door knocking and more, and technicians will secure tracks, says Göran Carlbom.

A preliminary investigation into reckless endangerment and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods has been initiated.
