In the beginning of the program, Hans Wahlgren is seriously ill. The days leading up to his passing are portrayed, among other things, through conversations between Pernilla Wahlgren and her mother Christina Schollin.
He just lies and says: "I'm sitting on the platform and waiting for the train to Gothenburg". That's where he's going instead of heaven, he thinks, says Schollin in a phone call to Pernilla.
"Embracing the grief"
On May 10, actor Hans Wahlgren passed away, 86 years old. The family was gathered at the house on Norra Lagnö in the Stockholm archipelago, and a couple of days after his passing, the viewers get an insight into the grief.
I feel so strongly that I just want to be here, I just want to stay on Lagnö and embrace the grief, says Pernilla Wahlgren in the program.
She describes that the first days consisted of dark and intense grief, a grief that suddenly eased on the third day.
It's still grief, but a light grief, and gratitude for having been able to be with him. Not that bottomless one. I see him, that he's walking here across the lawn and mowing it, she says at the same time as she looks out over the garden.
"You're ready"
Christina Schollin also tells about the very last moment together with Hans Wahlgren:
We were so close as a family right up until his last three breaths. When Pernilla had crawled into bed and laid her head against his chest and fallen asleep, she fell asleep there, then Linus said: "We'll take care of mom, you don't need to worry".
We said: "You can leave Hasse, because we're ready. And you're ready".
"Wahlgren's World" about Hans Wahlgren's death will be broadcast on Channel 5 and Max on November 15.
