A man in his 70s has died in a villa fire in Älvsbyn in Norrbotten. Neighbors alerted the rescue service to the fire at half past eleven on Friday evening.
The fire was already burning quite strongly out through the door, says Mattias Jonsson, RLC commander at the police.
The rescue service rushed to the scene with a large number of units.
One person was registered at the address and the rescue service later found a deceased person in the building. Relatives have been informed, says Mattias Jonsson.
A preliminary investigation into reckless endangerment has been initiated and the property has been cordoned off for technical investigation.
