A doctor in Västernorrland County is being criticized by Ivo, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate, after prescribing larger quantities of narcotics, writes Örnsköldsviks Allehanda.
The doctor prescribed, among other things, Citodon, Tramadol, and Oxycodone in quantities exceeding the prescribed amount, both to patients and for personal use.
The whole thing was revealed in 2022 when the doctor picked up strong sleeping pills and painkillers that he had prescribed to himself. The pharmacy reported the doctor to Ivo because the quantity was deemed to be more than what is reasonable for one person.
Ivo's investigation of the doctor also showed that he sometimes did not examine patients before prescribing medication to them, and that not all prescriptions had been recorded in the journal.
