The man is suspected of several cases of rape, sexual assault, and gross sexual harassment.
The crimes are alleged to have been committed against three different women who came into contact with the man in his capacity as a doctor between 2021 and 2023.
Two of the patients were affected in Örebro County – the man was employed by Region Örebro County – and the third in another location.
Prosecutor Helena Falkerby believes that the doctor seriously abused the fact that the patients were in a dependent position towards him.
There is a special provision in the sixth chapter of the Penal Code that targets situations where someone seriously abuses the fact that someone is in a dependent position towards another. That is what I believe this relationship constitutes between doctor and patient, says Helena Falkerby to NA.
The trial begins on March 6 in Örebro District Court. The man denies the crimes.
