Demanding Return to Previous Journal System

Since the fiasco with the introduction of the new journal system Millennium in the Västra Götaland region, work is now underway to restart the previous system – which is not entirely unproblematic either.

"Going back to the old systems is also demanding", says Regional Director Håkan Sandahl in a press release.

"We will have a continued pressured time ahead of us, but I hope it can still provide some calm."

For Närhälsan, the return is planned to take place on Monday when the operations start. At Södra Älvsborgs hospital (Säs), it will be on Tuesday – if the preparations are completed in time.

According to the region, the restart of the previous systems needs to be done in a thoughtful and organized manner, with reference to patient and operational safety.

"We need to analyze the situation and learn from what has happened from different perspectives in order to make wise decisions. That work has already started", says Healthcare and Medical Development Director Karin Looström Muth.
