Three men in Skellefteå have been found inexplicably dead after their shifts. All three worked at the battery factory Northvolt.
The police's environmental crime unit has now launched an investigation into the deaths, writes Norran.
The three men died in their homes within the space of six months. In January, a 33-year-old father of three was found dead in his bed after an evening shift at Northvolt. A month later, a 19-year-old, who also worked at the factory, was found dead in his bed. The latest case involves a man in his 60s in Skellefteå who was found dead on his balcony in June after his job at the battery factory.
Since another case has come in, we have now initiated an investigation, so they can investigate whether there are any connections, says Johann Kristiansson at Skellefteå police to the newspaper.
It is still too early to say whether the deceased may have been exposed to something in the work environment or whether the deaths are due to coincidence.
