There are three days left until the strike breaks out and mediators see no prospects for submitting a bid over the weekend to resolve the healthcare conflict.
According to the Swedish Nurses' Association, the union will meet with mediators again on Monday to continue the negotiations.
At the same time, 2,000 members are ready to go on strike at seven of the country's largest hospitals on Tuesday. The second wave can lead to a strike on June 11 and includes an additional 1,900 people at healthcare centers and the like.
The conflict is mainly about the union's demands for shorter working hours so that staff can cope.
By Friday, all local negotiations between the Swedish Nurses' Association and regions on the content of the strike notice had been concluded. In several places, the union withdrew conflict measures deemed socially harmful.
Can anything happen in the conflict over the weekend?
On Saturday, the Swedish Nurses' Association is organizing local rallies in Gothenburg, Malmö, and Umeå to draw attention to the conflict.
