An important message to the public was sent out on Sunday in the Sockerbruks area in Trelleborg, as the police were alerted about a suspected dangerous object at a multi-family house.
At 12 o'clock, it was announced that the object had been disarmed by the national bomb squad. "It was a live, smaller object," the police write on their website.
According to information to SVT News and TV4 News, it was a hand grenade.
The incident is being investigated as an attempt at general destruction.
Earlier in the day, residents in the area were advised to stay indoors and away from windows. The object was found at 8 am on Sunday morning.
