A carousel at an amusement park has overturned during the city festival in Kristianstad, reports Kristianstadsbladet.

A 3-year-old girl was in the carousel when the accident occurred, but she is expected to be okay according to the newspaper.

She is said to have suffered some kind of injury and was naturally scared, says police spokesperson Fredrik Bratt to TT.

The accident occurred on the ride attraction "Desert Show" when one of the ride's toy cars overturned with the child inside.

The carousel is closed, according to festival manager Tin Josefsdotter.

The entire festival will continue. This is a specific accident involving the carousel, she says to Kristianstadsbladet.

The police are investigating what happened.

We have received a report of reckless endangerment and causing bodily harm, says Fredrik Bratt.

No one is currently suspected of a crime.

The carousel will now be taken to a workshop for inspection, says owner Mikael Andreasson to P4 Halland.

Then the carousel will be checked and approved again so that there's nothing wrong, he says to the channel.
