According to information obtained by Sveriges Radio Ekot, the government and the Sweden Democrats are discussing abolishing the air travel tax next year.
Previously, the parties have been open to halving the air travel tax per passenger, which was introduced on the initiative of the previous government in 2018.
Ekot reports that abolition is being negotiated between the government parties and the Sweden Democrats. Previously, Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (The Liberals) has stated that she does not want to remove the air travel tax.
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (The Moderate Party) will hold a press conference on Thursday, where she will account for the economic situation.
