The mural depicts two children lying down and pointing to the sky. It is an unusual motif for the artist, who has made a name for himself commenting on political issues.
The artist posted two images of the artwork on his official Instagram account on Monday, just hours after it appeared on a wall on the side of a building in Bayswater, west London, sparking speculation about whether Banksy was behind it.
An identical image appeared at the foot of a tower in central London on Monday, but was not posted on Banksy's Instagram.
In September, Banksy attracted attention with a mural of a judge with a gavel standing over an unarmed protester holding a blood-spattered sign.
The work, which appeared on a wall at the country's highest court, was covered up and authorities said it had to be removed due to the building's historical significance.
