2,800 pigs have been put down in Norway after a feed scandal, reports the agricultural cooperative Nortura. It concerns six pig breeders who have received feed with excessively high levels of vitamin D.
Earlier in February, it was reported that 700 pigs had been put down due to health problems caused by vitamin D poisoning.
Nortura has no figures on how much pork has been lost, but based on the scope described, it could be around 100,000 kilograms, reports the newspaper Nationen.
