The Swedish Holocaust Museum is at Torsgatan 19 in Stockholm. It began in 2022 as a digital museum and opened as a physical museum in summer 2023. Its mission is to preserve and pass on the memory of the Holocaust. It aims to deepen and develop knowledge of the Holocaust on a national level.

The museum describes exhibitions, lectures and other events as ways of carrying out that work. Visitors can go for an exhibition or attend a lecture or another event. The museum’s public programme therefore includes more than exhibitions: it also includes lectures and other events about the Holocaust. Its focus is the Holocaust and how its memory and knowledge are carried forward. The Stockholm site is the in-person location of an institution that began as a digital museum.

The Trials

23 Oct to 1 Sept · The Swedish Holocaust Museum

What is justice after the Holocaust? The trials after the Holocaust have served multiple purposes. Beyond establishing individual responsibility, they have helped shape legal precedent and historical narratives. As a result, new laws and legal practices emerged. In this exhibition, you will explore the many hundreds of cases brought after the Holocaust and gain an understanding of how both the Holocaust itself and the efforts to address Nazi crimes have shaped our present.
