Tegnérlunden is one of Stockholm’s characteristic rocky parks and was laid out in the 1890s. The city describes winding paths through the terrain and old trees in a park with limited space. High in the park’s centre stands a well pavilion. Water from an artificial spring runs along a stream bordered by perennial planting and into a paddling pool. A small stone arch bridge crosses the stream; a playground for younger children is beside the pool. In the northern section, a flower garden has a pergola, seating and perennial beds.

Carl Eldh’s statue of playwright August Strindberg was installed in the park’s upper section in 1942. A bronze Astrid Lindgren sculpture by Maja Lisa Alexandersson has stood there since 1996. The city says several of Lindgren’s books, including Mio min Mio, take place in Tegnérlunden. Visit Stockholm describes it as a popular takeaway-lunch spot during spring and summer. The park was redesigned in the 1940s by landscape architect Erik Glemme, when the pavilion, stream and paddling pool were added.
