Tantolunden is a large park beside Årstaviken on Södermalm. It has a bathing place, playground, dog run, ball courts and outdoor gym. Visit Stockholm also lists beach volleyball, minigolf and an open-air theatre. People come to swim and picnic in summer, and to sled in winter. The city says the park’s hills and large trees give it separate areas.

Walk up the hill to see more than 100 allotment gardens and garden sheds. Gardening behind the fences dates to 1915. The park was laid out in the late 19th century, when more than 2,000 trees were planted. It is also within an area identified for its cultural heritage value.

The five-hole disc golf course is free to play, but you need to bring your own discs. Its start is near the Ringvägen entrance, by the wooded area behind the motorhome campsite.

The city said the north entrance on Ringvägen was due to be ready in January 2026, with new steps and benches. It also says artwork is being installed on Tantokullen during 2026. A section of park path is temporarily closed during the work and is to reopen when it is finished.

Good to know

Bring your own discs if you plan to play the free five-hole course; its starting point is near the Ringvägen entrance, behind the motorhome campsite. A section of park path is temporarily closed during the 2026 art work.
