Josef Slunge returns to Debaser with new material after collaborating with Håkan Hellström. His recent work includes “Zoey”, released with Hellström, guest appearances at concerts by Hellström and Cleo, and the mixtape I LOVE YOU. A new album is on the way, with a more organic, band-driven sound and songs centred on relationships, identity, escape and belonging. The event is for listeners curious about Slunge’s developing sound and his place in Sweden’s newer music scene.
Festivalrykten described his latest single, “Lissabon”, as music that slows down, trusts the craft and lets the song breathe. That gives a sense of the direction behind this return to Debaser: personal songwriting and an organic approach. Slunge’s earlier release Efter ikväll, inatt, men aldrig imorgon and the new album mark successive steps in his work, according to Debaser’s event page.
