Chisel Studios brings together local artists for an exhibition about creating outside expectations of social acceptability, market demand and rules. The artists describe the work as made for art itself, spiritual connection and emotional release. The exhibition features Brian “Earz” Nsamba, ERM, Bruce Karim, Mahoo, Amanda CM, Carlos Martinez, Stefan “Riko” Johanson and Emma Katarina Olsen Blomquist. At the opening, visitors can see the work, meet the artists and support their practices. Original artwork, prints and merchandise will be available to buy. The studio says it can pack, ship and deliver purchases. The exhibition remains on view through 31 December, but visits after the opening day are by appointment. It offers visitors a chance to encounter work made beyond the usual demands of acceptability and commercial viability, with the artists’ own description centred on spiritual connection and emotional release.
