Citybanan is a track for Stockholm’s commuter trains, connecting T-Centralen directly with Odenplan. It was completed in 2017 with new platforms and art by 14 artists at the stations. At Odenplan, look for “Life Line”, which hangs from the ceiling of the western entrance hallway.
David Svensson made the piece from jagged white lines of fluorescent light. The installation uses 400 metres of LED lighting. Art guide Marie Andersson says its shape was inspired by the heartbeats of Svensson’s son, shown on a CTG monitor during childbirth. The lights have a practical purpose as well as an artistic one.
You can walk through the hallway to see the work. Odenplan is also on the subway’s green line, served by trains 17, 18 and 19. Citybanan provides the direct commuter-train connection between Odenplan and T-Centralen. The information describes the station artwork and train routes, but does not give a visit duration, ticket price or opening hours.
