Stadsslingan is a walking loop around central Söderhamn. Naturkartan lists the route as 6.6 km in one place and 6.9 km in another, describing it as about 7 km. It passes through leafy areas and residential districts, goes by the heating plant and water treatment plant, and follows part of Söderhamnsfjärden. The walk combines footpaths and pavements, with gravel, asphalt and wooden sections. The ground is mostly flat, though there are a few small hills.
Benches are spread along the route, with the greatest number on the path north of the town centre. You can walk the loop in either direction, or use other paths to shorten or extend it. The suggested starting point is the junction of Norralagatan and Södra Hamngatan. Nearby bus stops include Faxepark and Källparken; free parking is listed along streets and at CFL, the Centre for Flexible Learning. The route is listed for use in all seasons, with lighting on some sections. Naturkartan says it works for walkers using aids such as poles or crutches. Its page carries a warning about storm-felled forest.
