After more than five miles of skiing, one of the poles broke for Swede Max Novak in the season finale of the long-distance cup in Norway. A frustrated Max Novak slammed the broken pole into the snow and the race was over for the 29-year-old.
Reports Death Threat After Weekend's Riot
Swedish cross-country skier Max Novak has reported a death threat to the police, which he received on social media after the Birkebeiner race in Norway last weekend. The race ended with Novak getting into a fight with a local skier.

Vasalopp winner Stina Nilsson's success in the long-distance cup continues. The Swede won the Birkebeinerrennet in Norway in superior style after having pulled away over a mile before the finish.
The Swede close to victory – lost sprint duel
The Swede Jenny Larsson challenged Anikken Gjerde Alnæs for the victory in the Jizerska long-distance race in the Czech Republic in the Ski Classics long-distance cup, but the Norwegian won the sprint duel on the final stretch. I'm a fairly disappointed second, says Larsson.
