Teenager knocks out world number two
Mirra Andreeva is clear for the final in the WTA tournament Indian Wells in California after beating out world number two Iga Swiatek from Poland with the scores 7–6(7–1), 1–6, 6–3. Swiatek won last year's edition of Indian Wells and had not lost there since Elena Rybakina beat her in the semifinal in 2023.
17-year-old becomes the youngest WTA winner ever
Tennis talent Mirra Andreeva, 17, is now the youngest WTA 1000 winner in history. This after having defeated Dane Clara Tauson in the final (7–6, 6–1) in Dubai.
